The all-new 2022 Honda BR-V is based on the N7X concept. It will first go on sale in the Indonesian market followed by the other global markets. Honda says that the carmaker kept in mind the need of SUV customers looking for a seven-seater model when developing the second generation BR-V. It was known as the N7X during the concept stage. The concept version received positive response from consumers which later became the basis for the development of the all-new BR-V.
In Indonesia, BR-V is among the popular three row vehicles in the country. It is for this reason that Honda has made the global debut of this 7 seater in Indonesia. In international markets, the new gen BR-V will go up against the likes of Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia and upcoming Kia carens.
The design of the new Honda BR-V is very similar to its concept version. The SUV comes with sleek LED headlamps upfront with integrated LED DRLs. The side profile is minimalistic with just the large multi-spoke alloy wheels and the roof rails while the rear comes with a wrap-around LED taillight and a roof spoiler integrated on the top of the tailgate.
The BR-V gets an Amaze-inspired dashboard on the inside that houses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen in the centre. The cabin is finished in an all-black theme. The feature list includes keyless entry & go, automatic climate control, remote engine start and more. The new BR-V benefits from a highly revised and improved safety kit that includes the full range of the Honda Sensing driver assistance systems. Though limited to the range-topping Prestige variant, it includes gears like – camera-based system that incorporates autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, front departure alert, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, and automatic high beam. As standard are available 6-airbags.
Both the first and second row passengers get an armrest, all 3 rows get their own power outlets, the third rows have 50:50 split and there are plentiful storage spaces along with as many as 8 bottle holders.
The 2022 Honda BR-V comes powered by the brand’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which also does duty on the new City sedan. The engine produces 121 BHP and 145 Nm and is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission.
Prices for the seven-seater SUV will start from 275.9 million Indonesian Rupiah to 339.9 million Indonesian Rupiah.
