  1. It will take many years for Toyota to refine these new V^6twin turbos and to eliminate all the bugs which are already surfacing

  2. I want to see this in hybrid because that means we are closer to the 4Runner get its hybrid model! Nice to see all these 10+ model year runs get their overdue updates. Love my '18 T4R, but the tech is behind!

  3. Excited for the Sequoia's new hybrid powertrain, but dreading its interior. Guessing there'll be digital instruments, a huge touchscreen, tiny fiddly buttons for heating and ventilation controls, and acres of piano black plastic. Toyota's interior designs were good five years ago, but have become an unuseable mess recently.

  4. The hybrid Tundra still has pretty lousy gas mileage 18/20 mpg.
Hope the Seqodoes not disqualify many buyers, myself included, with poor gas mileage. If so, the RAV4 will be where I am spending my money.

  5. @Kirk Kreifels Do you know why Lexus no longer includes a trailer hitch on the GX460? I want to buy a GX but really want the hitch. Lexus dealer and corporate are no help. Please help me! Thank you.

  6. I don't think hybrid only is a good idea. The TT v6 from the tundra has more hp than the current sequoia v8 does. I can't wait to see the pricing on this thing. I would not be surprised to see 80k for a capstone if they have it.

  7. Really wish they made the sequoia longer like the expedition, a large SUV is the only thing missing from the Toyota/Lexus lineup

  8. I know this is nutty, but maybe there will be more than one tree in the Sequoia forest. Maybe there will be a Sequoia that is 195-198” to fill the Land Cruiser gap. And maybe a Grand Sequoia 208-210” long for family/cargo-oriented buyers. And there could even be a Sequoia 4Runner of 188-190” for the traditional 4Runner/Wrangler/Bronco user. They’d all be sharing the platform/drivetrains/design language—could be cheaper for Toyota than three separate models. I know it’s crazy and probably the most un-Toyota thing ever.

  10. I think my pessimistic prophecy will come true once again as it has the past 8 times.

But all the strong Toyota fanboys say “it’ll outclass the American rivals and it’s already better than them”.

So to be fair, I’ll wait it out to see the sequoia reveal and see if the fanboys will shut down my prophecy or my prophecy will shut down the fanboys. Time will tell but one things for sure:

If this ends up being a total disappointment and dismal failure like the tundra (I wouldn’t be surprised), then I’ll officially become the go to consultant for deciding if future Lexus or Toyota products that no ones even seen yet are worth considering or not 😉

  11. I just saw the lx600 review and saw that there is jack shit for cargo space behind the 3rd row. Been holding my breath for this redesign but now I'm worried they have mirrored theexus and pootched the cargo space….

  12. It’s gonna look just like the new Lexus 600 folks look at the window trim on the side windows in the first picture releases yesterday and look at the passenger door frame to the Lexus. Oh and I won’t be excited if it looks like the Lexus and is nothing more then a glorified soccer mom kid hauler as the host is so excited to get his wife.

  13. I wish Toyota will also push through with their Grand Highlander to better compete with the Palisade and Telluride, and wish that it will be exclusively Hybrid just like the Sienna and Harrier/Venza and even a PHEV.

  14. In this SUV/Crossover dominant market, I always wondered why the Sequoia wasn't dressed up and offered as a Lexus. It's been working very well for the Navigator, Escalade, even the Lexus LX.

  15. Just saw the recent leaks and the rear quarter window and pillar design looks longer and sleeker than the official teaser… is that a sign there’ll be two versions to make up for the loss of Landcruiser?

  16. It will be very different than the last Sequoia. I think it will be a rebadged Land Cruiser from the photos Toyota' has released. Neither are big sellers. So have one and grab sales from both buyer types.

  17. Am I the only one seeing this? The space between the C and the D-pillar does not have full-size SUV proportions (at least compared to Gen 2), which makes me wonder if Toyota will go the same route as GM. I just hope this is not it or that my eyes are deceiving me.

  18. Man this better be good. I am sick of sweating when a Prius pulls up to me at the light when I am in my 4Rhnner . I start worring if I don't get the launch right he/she/non-binary will toast me.
