We review the 2022 Honda Civic SI, put it on the dyno at King Motorsports to find out if this Civic was watered down. This manual transmission-only car promises a lower price and better performance but with trade-offs. Other cars to consider are the VW GTI, Elantra N, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla.

  1. I love my 10th gen that has heated seats….lol. I’ll have to get my hands on one of these 11th gen civic Si’s. My 10th gen is an absolute joy to drive in the canyons.

  2. The car is four door sedan. It has been cheapened . In so many ways this car is inferior to the cars of the 1990’s . Horsepower is up.
but the handing is nowhere near the double wishbone system. The quality has taken a real hit. I don’t think Sochiro Honda would be happy!

  5. @savagegeese, how does this compare to the 2022 Hyundai Elantra N-line, the direct competitor to the new 2022 Honda Covic Si

  6. These cars have gotten so Bloated. Its like an Accord from a few gens back. Wish they made a Fit Si. Also, bring back more basic trims like the DX. A bargain model. Honda is getting too upmarket.

  7. Great review as usual Mark (nice jacket- I have the same color and also wear it on a daily basis) and Jack!! This would be the best car for someone who just got out of college and has just started the workforce. Great on fuel and fun to drive!! For some reason my Type R gives me anxiety. Not sure why. 😕

  8. Why keep a round steering wheel instead of a flat bottom in Honda's sport injected $30k Civic? Not the best looking Civic, just above the fugglee est 2002. Get Jack back in the interior for regular sized males to compare becaue he doesn't look like he needs a phone book to see over the steering wheel in a little Civic.

  9. This review absolutely sucked compared to the Wrx review. It’s painfully obvious that neither of you like this car. The last two the reviews I saw were absolute praise for the car. Which ultimately doesn’t matter but you’re not being objective about the review which comes out generic and boring to watch

  10. I’m sure the next years 2023-2024 etc civic will include some kind of edge to this generation. As they did with the 2016/18 and the 2020 civics.

  11. I brought the 10gen Si because you said “ this is the best civic si so far” and I thank for it every day now. With front and back seat heated and adaptive damping, and a average but absolutely FINE interior. Not even mention the fun drive and sporty design. Thank you Bird and thank again

  12. The SI isnt a sports car?? Really? SI = Sport Injected. Yeah it's a sports car and now it really lacks compared to the last gen. Way to go Hon-duh.

  13. How do you have a ton of visibility when you have a large screen slapped on the dashboard?…and how hard is it to include shift lights? Don't even begin to tell me it's to save cost. Smh

  14. An I replace the shocks, I hear the SI bounces like crazy. Or am I better off getting the touring hatchback manual. I'm looking for comfort and manual transmission – the extra HP is cool and all but if it causes me to get headaches from it bouncing around then I'll need to buy aftermarket shocks ,and also I hear its noisy, how much is it to add noise dampening. Does the hatchback come with noise dampening? Will the TypeR have all the shocks and noise dampening we want, or will it still be trash with it being loud?

  15. Not a huge fan of any of the cars mentioned in this segment and realize they all have their strengths and weaknesses like most cars. However out of those mentioned over the long haul (5+ years of ownership) history has taught us the Honda Civic Si will prove more reliable, have a lower maintenance cost with stronger resale value than its VW or Hyundai competitors.

  16. Thanks! Very well done. But for buying choices, isn't the best question – "For $27k, and wanting a fun small car, what is better?"

  17. Honda should fire the entire design team and the person that approved this abomination. Honda needs to get back to its roots with the civic. small compact light and fast. Honestly there is nothing that inspires me to buy this. I have owned civics and integra's my entire life and have had my Dc5 for 12years waiting for Honda to produce something fun again. I'm done with them at this point.
